Temporary Coffee Exporters (EKS) are issued by the Director for Export of Agricultural and Forestry Products, Directorate General of Foreign Trade, Ministry of Trade of the Republic of Indonesia. To obtain EKS, a company can submit a written application to the Director of Export of Agricultural and Forestry Products, having the following address:

  1. Trading Business License (SIUP)
  2. Company Registration Certificate (TDP)
  3. Taxpayer Identification Number (NPWP)
  4. Recommendation from the SPEK Issuing Service from the region where the exporter is located.

Rejection or approval of the submission of a written application for EKS will be given within 3 (three) days of receipt of the complete and correct application. The EKS issuance will include the International Coffee Organization (ICO) number as EKS identification and is valid for 1 (one) year from the date of issue.

Registered Coffee Exporter (ETK)

EKS can be upgraded to become a registered coffee exporter (ETK) if it has exported at least 200 (two hundred) tons of coffee in 1 (one) year of coffee. What is meant by coffee year is October 1 to September 30 of the following year.

Submission of a written application for an increase from EKS to ETK is addressed to the Director of Export of Agricultural and Forestry Products at the address as above and must be accompanied by the following requirements:

  1. Trading Business License (SIUP)
  2. Company Registration Certificate (TDP)
  3. Taxpayer Identification Number (NPWP)
  4. Recommendation from the SPEK Issuing Service from the region where the exporter is located

Notification of Export of Goods (PEB) which has been legalized by the local customs and excise office.

Similar to an EKS application, rejection or approval of this application is given within 3 (three) days of receipt of the complete and correct application and is valid as long as the ETK holding company carries out coffee export activities and is revoked if within 1 (one) year the coffee is not export coffee or export coffee without being accompanied by a SPEK.

 

Coffee Export Approval Letter (SPEK)

As previously mentioned, in addition to EKS or ETK, exporters must also have a Coffee Export Approval Letter (SPEK) to be able to export coffee. These SPEKs are issued by the Trade Office, either at the provincial, district, or city levels. SPEK is valid for 30 (thirty) days, can only be extended for 1 (one) time, and cannot be used in the validity period exceeds the end of the coffee year.

To obtain SPEK, exporters that have been recognized as EKS or ETK can submit a written application to the local Trade Office by attaching a photocopy of recognition as EKS or ETK. SPEKs that have been issued can be used for shipping from export ports throughout Indonesia.

SPEK Application Submission

Issued within 3 (three) days after the application is received completely and correctly. SPEK is issued in the framework of 5 (five) copies with the following designation:

Original, for the local customs office;

  1. Copy 1 for foreign exchange banks
  2. Copies 2 for SPEK issuing offices
  3. Copying 3 for the Directorate of Export of Agricultural and Forestry Products
  4. Copy 4 for exporters

  1. Minister of Trade Regulation No. 10/M-DAG/PER/5/2011 concerning Amendments to the Minister of Trade Regulation No. 41/M-DAG/PER/9/2009 concerning Coffee Export Provisions; and
  2. Minister of Trade Regulation No. 41/M-DAG/PER/9/2009 concerning Coffee Export Provisions.
