That afternoon, in the rain that made my body shiver sometimes this thin body, I got a little chill. A strong smell entered my airway. Strange, this is the first time I smell this sweet smell.

The scent somehow connotes magic. Yes, that afternoon I entered a village that knows what it’s called. This is the first time I passed. The village is quiet. It could be because of the rain and the time it started shifting towards the boy.

I’m a little sorry why I was involved in cutting the bike. Initially, the Kompas Sabang Padang Exploration bicycle group stopped having lunch while having a durian party. We finished passing the winding Bukit Barisan. Our goal is Samosir.

I stopped when I ran into a resident. Then I knew, that hypnotic fragrance came from the coffee flowers. The area I was passing through turned out to be part of the coffee chain in Indonesia. Yes, Mandheling coffee!

As the name implies, Mandheling coffee originates from North Sumatra, precisely in Mandheling Natal Regency. The name Mandheling is taken at the same time as a marker for the name of a tribe in North Sumatra, namely the Mandahiling Tribe. Its coffee plantation is located in a part of the Bukit Barisan mountains.

Coffee Plantation Plantation

Mandheling Natal is a coffee-producing area in Indonesia that has been running since the 1800s. Historically, Mandheling coffee plantations originated from the Forced Cultivation System launched by the Dutch East Indies government.

Because it comes from the Arabica type, the character of Mandheling coffee certainly has a sour taste and a distinctive aroma. However, when compared to other types of Sumatran Arabica coffee, the acidity level of Mandheling coffee tends to be the lowest.

Acidity Mandheling Coffee

Besides that, the sweet aftertaste is also one of the distinctive characters. This sweet aftertaste seems to be an antidote to the tongue after taking a sip of the slightly thick body. The combination of sweet and sour taste is not too high this is a favorite of people who like coffee but have a sensitive stomach.

The advantages of Mandheling coffee

Another advantage of Mandheling coffee is its fragrant floral aroma. This fragrant aroma then makes it often used in several roasters or coffee shops to make house blends.

The aroma of the coffee flowers was an encouragement for the upward sway towards Tele. Unfortunately, the long, cold rain that pierced the jersey made me give up before the goal. A pickup truck is a savior to Tele. One day I will continue this route that initially smelled mystical.
